Simplicity Linux
Designed to just work

About Simplicity Linux

Simplicity Linux is the answer to a problem I've always had with Puppy Linux - it's very simple compared to some of the other Linux distros.  For example - it's package manager doesn't contain as much software, and dotpet packages are spread across the Puppy Linux forums.  But the basis of it is stunning - it's fast and comes with an amazing amount of software for such a small distro.

So I set about trying to improve it in a variety of ways.  I first of all added the awesome Macpup desktop interface, but soon advanced that to XFCE.  I also added WINE, Spotify and Skype.  In more recent times I've added VLC as a media player for dealing with MP3 and video playback.

We follow Ubuntu's version naming system, so the current version which was released in October 2009 is 9.10.  And the next release will be called 10.1 as it's due for release in January 2010.

Oh, and it doesn't cater for the elderly.  But older people are welcome to use it.

More will be added to this section soon!

If you want to donate some money, please do!  This project is maintained by one guy from a conservatory in the south of England.
Or you can buy a CD, or you can buy a USB key. Just send me an e-mail to let me know what you want and where you live, and I'll get back to you with prices!

We are also working on a little store where you can buy geeky things like t-shirts and messenger bags.
